Simon Gordon is Managing Director of the Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government (BETA) at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. BETA’s mission is to advance the wellbeing of Australians through the application and rigorous evaluation of behavioural insights to public policy and administration. Over the past four years BETA has conducted a large number of projects in areas including health; education; employment; taxation; financial decision-making; energy; and cyber security.

Before joining BETA in 2017, Simon held a number of senior roles in the not-for-profit and government sectors. Simon has a PhD in Political Science from the Australian National University.
