Mykhailo Fedorov is the youngest minister in the Ukrainian politics, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, initiator of the electronic public service Diia.
Mykhailo Fedorov is one of the youngest innovators and most progressive visionaries of the country. With the team of the ministry, he is building a digital state. Also, he works on transferring 100% of public services online, providing 95% of Ukraine’s population high-speed Internet, increasing the digital literacy of Ukrainians and creating favourable conditions for e-business and IT development in the country. He is convinced that in the nearest future the share of IT in Ukraine’s GDP will reach 10%.
Mykhailo was nominated for the Kyiv Post “30 under 30” 2019 award, which annually includes young Ukrainian leaders for outstanding achievements. His projects have won in seven nominations at the annual European Association of Political Consultants Polaris Awards. And it was the best result by the number of awards per country in the history of the event.
He was born on January 21, 1991. Graduated from the Faculty of Sociology and Management of Zaporizhzhia University, the Higher Political School, the Educational School of NATO Representatives in Ukraine. He was also a “student mayor of Zaporizhzhia.”
At the age of 21, he started the largest youth public movement in Zaporizhzhia Active-Z. With the USAID Foundation (the United States Agency for International Development) he has implemented the Zaporizhzhia IT Capacity Building Initiative. At the age of 22, he founded the digital agency SMMSTUDIO.
In 2018 he became the Chief Operating Officer of the SUPERLUDI project. In December of the same year, he was the Head of the digital for Volodymyr Zelensky Presidential campaign. In May 2019, he became a digital external advisor to the President of Ukraine.
From August 29, 2019, Mykhailo Fedorov is Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation and the youngest member of the Cabinet of Ministers in the history of independent Ukraine. Within three months, the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation has launched a beta test of the Diia app – an application of public services. Today, Diia is actively used by citizens. It saves their time and simplifies receiving public services to a few clicks. It is created by the principle “the state is for the person, not the person is for the state”. All services of the Ministry are designed to destroy bureaucracy and corruption and build a system where interaction with the state is comfortable and convenient for every citizen.
